写真家・若木信吾が自分のホームである浜松の人や風景を撮影し続ける「浜松私的写真百科」シリーズがスタート。
イメージが瞬時にグローバルに拡散できる時代においては、逆に「写真の力」はローカルでかつパーソナルに向かう。
ヴァナキュラーとは、ローカルカラー、すなわち、その土地固有の風物をいうが、まさにその「固有性」の問題を若木信吾とともに探求して行きたいと考えている。
若木信吾は写真家であると同時に映画監督でもあるが、まさにこの『HAMAMATSU Edit』は、様々なシーンから構成される映画のようにエディットされている。

若木信吾プロフィール
写真家 / 1971 年静岡県浜松市生まれ。ニューヨーク州ロチェスター工科大学写真学科を卒業後、日本で活動を開始。雑誌、広告において活躍する傍ら、自ら出版社「ヤングトゥリー・プレス」を主宰、故郷の静岡県浜松市に書店「BOOKS AND PRINTS」をオープンするなど、写真家の枠に収まらない活動を続けている。初監督作品の映画「星影のワルツ」は故郷・浜松市で撮影され、ロッテルダム映画祭タイガー賞にノミネートされた。2016 年に、浜松市美術館の歴史で、写真家として初の個展を開く。やらまいか大使も務める。
