Limited Edition of 30,
横田大輔(DAISUKE YOKOTA)『MATTER/BURN OUT』

Daisuke Yokota's MATTER / BURN OUT, published by artbeat publishers in 2016, was highly acclaimed both nationally and internationally.
The re-edited edition has now been revived as a limited edition of 30 signed copies.
Matter," an installation series using a large number of photographs output on rolls of paper, has appeared in exhibitions in Japan and abroad since 2014. Changing its form each time, it has been shown at "anima on photo" (Unseen Photo Fair Special Exhibition, 2013, Netherlands), "Photo London" (2015, UK), and the Aichi Triennale, among others.
At the "JIMEI x ARLES International Photography Festival" in Xiamen, China (2015, China), the installation was burned by the artist himself in a vacant lot after the exhibition ended, and this ‘burn out’ process was documented in 4,000 photographs. Then the data was further processed and compiled into "MATTER / BURN OUT" in 2016.

The new work is a revival of "MATTER / BURN OUT" in a large format of 365 x 490 mm, allowing viewers to see even more clearly the details of an image that has come back to life after repeated burnings, rebirths, and re-excursions.
