現代写真は今、コンテンポラリーアートにおいて、最もエキサイティングな領域のひとつ。最も先端的な分野だ。1990年代末から本格化したデジタルトランスフォーメーション（DX）のインパクトは、アナログな銀塩システムにより成立していた「写真」を、根本からリモデルさせた。さらに言えば、カメラという装置は、もはや光学的な道具ではなく、AIの端末となった。
このようなラディカルな移行期には新しい表現の担い手たちが現れる。
TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD（TFPA）がスタートしたのは2011年のこと。いよいよ来年2021年には10周年を迎える。そのグランプリ受賞者から10人を選抜し、作品をキュレーションしNEOTOKYOZINとしてまとめた。
