BALL GAGは美術大学在学中より、きわめて実験的・挑発的な作品を制作し、現在も大学院にて制作を続けている、きわめて特異で注目すべき才能だ。自らの像を被写体にしながら、現代社会から噴出する矛盾を表現する。そこには、写真を通し、自らを社会に内在する「分裂・裂け目」としてとらえる視点がある。TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD 2022で審査員賞を受賞。

東北芸術工科大学美術科洋画コースを卒業、現在は東京藝術大学院修士課程先端芸術表現科に在籍する。今年で24になる。
インターネットというテクノロジーを人間はどのように扱っているのかを考える。そこから発生する運動や行動原理、思想や文化観念についてドローイング・写真・映像・zine・インスタレーションといった表現様式を扱い制作している。

BALL GAG is an extremely unique and remarkable talent who has been creating experimental and provocative works since he was a student at art college and continues to do so in graduate school. Using his own image as a subject, he expresses the contradictions that erupt from society today. There is a point of view that sees himself, through his photographs, as a "schism and rift" within society. He received the Jury Prize at the TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD 2022.

He graduated from Tohoku University of Art And Design, Department of Fine Arts Oil Painting, and is currently enrolled in a master's degree program of Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Intermedia Art. He will turn 24 this year.
He considers how humans deal with the technology of the Internet. He creates his works in drawing, photography, video, zine, installation, and other forms of expression to explore the movements, principles of action, ideas, and cultural concepts that emerge from these movements.
