たかくらかずき TAKAKURAKAZUKI『INTO THE DEEP NATURE』
2025年４月に、GINZA SIX「GSIX 2025 SPRING – INTO THE DEEP NATURE」で発表された、たかくらかずきの大型インスタレーション「HYPER MAN BAN GO O」を軸に構成したアートブック。
密教の五大（地・水・火・風・空）をモチーフにした「ハイパーマン」と、陰陽五行に基づく十二支のキャラクターたち。テクノロジーと神話、都市と自然が交錯する「もうひとつのネイチャー」を可視化する本作は、本作の前にGINZA SIXで展示されていたヤノベケンジの「BIG CAT BANG」への応答でもあり、宇宙的存在と大地的エネルギーのあいだに曼荼羅的構造を立ち上げる試みとなった。
本書には、「ハイパーマン」のドローイングやメイキング画像、GINZA SIXでのインスタレーション写真、十二支キャラクターの作品ビジュアルを多数収録。さらに、たかくらによる論考「キャラクター・マトリクス」も掲載されている。
キャラクターを物語の登場人物ではなく「儀式の依代」と捉え、密教の曼荼羅や「ポケモン」「ウルトラマン」などの文脈を縦横に参照しながら、キャラクター造形の構造的な美学＝マトリクスを読み解くテキストは、本書のもうひとつの核となっている。

This art book centers on "HYPER MAN BAN GO O", a large-scale installation by TAKAKURAKAZUKI unveiled in April 2025 as part of GINZA SIX’s "GSIX 2025 SPRING – INTO THE DEEP NATURE".
Inspired by the five elements of esoteric Buddhism (earth, water, fire, wind, and void), TAKAKURAKAZUKI’s "Hyperman" appears alongside twelve zodiac characters based on the cosmology of Yin-Yang and the Five Phases.
Visualizing an alternative "nature" where technology, mythology, city, and wilderness converge, the work responds to Kenji Yanobe’s "BIG CAT BANG"—previously exhibited at GINZA SIX—by constructing a mandala-like structure that bridges cosmic and terrestrial energies.
The book features an extensive collection of "Hyperman" drawings, production images, and photographs of the installation at GINZA SIX, along with visuals of the zodiac characters. It also includes TAKAKURAKAZUKI’s critical essay "Character Matrix".
By reinterpreting characters not as narrative figures but as "vessels of ritual", and drawing on sources from mandala iconography to "Pokémon" and "Ultraman", the essay analyzes the structural aesthetics—or "matrix"—of character design.
A dense exploration of reimagined nature and new myth-making, this publication captures TAKAKURAKAZUKI’s latest thinking and practice through both image and text.
