宮田恵理子は、Japan Photo Award「Antonio Scoccimarro賞」、伊奈信男賞、TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD準グランプリなどを受賞し、国内外で活動を行ってきた作家である。作品はバーゼルのHEK（House of Electronic Arts）で展示されるなど、写真とテクノロジーを横断する表現で発表を重ねている。
『Chronicle Void』は、宮田が幼少期の写真アルバムを起点に、写真とAI生成イメージを用いて制作してきた同名プロジェクトの作品群を収録したアートブック。本作では、日本のポップカルチャーにおける女性表象や、日常の中に存在する視覚的な環境を背景に制作されたイメージが収められている。
作品には、痴漢防止の看板や、兵器を女性キャラクターとして擬人化する表現など、日本の視覚文化に見られる要素が参照されている。また、これらのイメージは、日本的および西洋的な理想の双方に影響された、日本人女性に向けられる多層的なまなざしを可視化している。

本書に収録された作品は、写真とAI生成イメージが分けられることなく重ね合わされ、一つの画面として提示されている。重層化したイメージの中から、個人の記憶と社会的な構造が交差する。

Eriko Miyata is an artist who has received numerous awards, including the Japan Photo Award “Antonio Scoccimarro Prize,” the Ina Nobuo Award, and the Runner-up Grand Prize at TOKYO FRONTLINE PHOTO AWARD. Her work has been presented internationally, including exhibitions at HEK (House of Electronic Arts) in Basel, and continues to be shown both in Japan and abroad.
Chronicle Void is a photobook that brings together Miyata’s latest project, developed from her childhood photo albums and created by layering photographs she took herself with AI-generated images. The work draws on representations of women in Japanese pop culture and the visual environment embedded in everyday life.
The images reference elements commonly found in Japanese visual culture, such as anti-groping warning signs and the personification of weapons as young female characters. At the same time, they visualize the layered gaze directed at Japanese women—one shaped by both Japanese and Western ideals, as described in the artist’s statement.

In this book, photographs and AI-generated images are not presented separately but merged into single compositions. Within these layered images, personal memory and social structures intersect.
